Classic Central Park Fall Engagement

Fall–can you think of a better time for an engagement session in Central Park?

Nope. Me either.

In fact, every fall I always want to pull out “You’ve Got Mail” and rewatch it. Such a classic!

“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address”

So of course, deciding on the location was easy, it was peak fall colors in New York City–Central Park it was! I loved the diversity of the neoclassical architecture of the bridges, stairways, with the natural elements of the actual park. So many options! But I knew where I wanted to begin.

Our first stop?

Bow Bridge, Central Park

With a cheering crowd, clearly in love with them as well, these two were naturals in front of the camera. Each “pose” wasn’t actually a pose, but merely a natural reaction to prompts as we went around the park during their engagement session. Because my philosophy, is that when a couple is truly relaxed, the emotions come through and I actually don’t need to “pose” them.

Just look at them! Complete pros.

After the crowd became a bit much, we slowly made our way to the next stop, right at the heart of Central Park.

Bethesda Fountain, Central Park

It was hustling and bustling with h̶u̶n̶d̶r̶e̶d̶s̶ a thousand people–and with the 2020 Presidential Election results being announced that afternoon, it was also the central location for celebrations in the city! Bet you wouldn’t have guessed that looking at these images? It takes trusting your photographer to a new level in those types of situations,….along with a good zoom lens or crop. 🙂 Also, quick disclaimer, myself and clients are wearing masks at all times, except for when they take them off for the quick photo snap. 😉

But back to this amazing couple–the fall colors were just stunning, and I’m still amazed that we were able to actually make this session happen! I love being able to expand my area of service from primarily a DC Photographer, to all along the East Coast, and specifically a NYC Photographer. Yes–you read that correctly. I’ve expanded for engagement and wedding bookings in NYC!! Super stoked, and you can find more details here. Be among the first, and you could see an extra bonus in your wedding package. 😉
