Riverview Farm–A wedding venue with a perfect blend of garden and coastal vibes, minutes from DC
For their tented October wedding, Emily and Dan infused their celebration with meaningful details and coastal elegance inspired by the bride’s family’s seaside home.
The day began with some heartfelt notes exchange by the bride & groom. There was not a dry eye to be had. Another special moment was when the bride and her dad rode to the venue in his lovingly restored 1967 Camaro which they worked on together as a project.
One of the showstoppers was the oyster themed seating chart–displaying personal handwritten letters by the couple to each guest. They were directed to their seat by a personalized oyster shell, which had been collected by the brides family.
During cocktail hour, the couple was able to mingle and celebrate with guests, and enjoy the raw oyster bar–a nod to the summer days spent on the eastern shore. As the bride said, “There’s nothing better than a sunny day, oysters on the half-shell with cocktail sauce, and a bubbly glass of champagne.” They wanted guests to feel that coastal vibe, and I certainly believe they succeeded. One of the highlights for the groom was the late night snack of Rita’s Italian Ice. A true taste of summer as a kid.
One of my personal favorite touches was the heirloom wedding photo display–framed photographs of their families’ weddings-from the great-grandparents, parents, cousins, siblings. A true testament to how important documenting these wedding days are. I loved watching grandma see hers!
