Madeline and Noel’s Spring Tidal Basin Engagement Session

This beautiful spring day with Madeline and Noel was so much fun to photograph! These two are college sweethearts who met on their freshman floor at Rutgers. It was incredibly clear after spending time with them how they have grown together and were so excited to take the next step in their relationship. We hit up some of the most iconic spots in DC for their session, including the Lincoln Memorial and Memorial Continental Hall, before heading around to the Tidal Basin to capture some classic cherry blossom photos!

If you’re looking for cherry blossom engagement photos in the tidal basin, just know you’re not the only one! While getting stunning photos without the crowds is possible, it’s definitely trickier to navigate than your average engagement session. Your photographer might recommend waking up incredibly early to get there before anyone else, or they might suggest you avoid peak bloom days and go for the week before or after instead! Some of my photographer friends will even suggest a different cherry blossom location entirely! If you want a session with the cherry blossoms, I highly recommend hiring a DC-based photographer who has experience with the area and putting your full trust in them.
